After multiple stops and starts, the fight between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury is finally on. Both Jake Paul and Tommy Fury made the news official via social media. The contest will occur in New York City at Madison Square Garden on August 6 and be headlined jointly by Amanda Serrano and Brenda Carabajal. Tickets go on sale on June 29 at 11 a.m. EST.
Fury would be Paul’s opponent in his final fight, which was to take place in December. Fury had to withdraw after a rib fracture and was replaced by former UFC champion Tyron Woodley.
That fight was a rematch of a previous match between the two. Paul posted an exclamation mark on their second meeting and spectacularly defeated Woodley in the sixth round.
But ever since — and before — people have begged Paul to fight a “real” boxer. So far, Paul has dealt with a mix of YouTubers and ex-MMA fighters. As an 8-0 up and-coming fighter, Fury is designed to be that “real” boxer and will most likely represent Paul’s toughest test in the ring yet.
Who is Tommy Fury?
Fury is a young professional boxer with a well-known last name. He is the half-brother of current heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. He is also famous in the UK for his starring role in Love Island, a reality TV show contestants must mate to avoid being cut out. The show is huge in the UK.
Who is Jake Paul?
You probably know Paul, the social media personality who first made it big on Vine before switching to every existing platform. AHe showed a talent for boxing and has been fighting ever since. fter fighting on the undercard of brother Logan Paul’s viral boxing match with British YouTuber KSI, he has taken up boxing in recent years.
Paul has also gone on to promote and co-promote a huge fight between Ireland’s Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, one of the greatest female boxing matches ever.
Paul seems to understand the public’s perception of his boxing career and posted a pretty self-conscious (and funny) TikTok about his upcoming fight with Fury.
